HCS are a leading UK facilities support company, who are currently looking to appoint a Helpdesk
Operator to join our dynamic team based in our fantastic, newly refurbished head office, just outside
Glasgow city centre.

Job Description:
As a Helpdesk Operator, you will be part of a small, fast paced team responsible for allocating
reactive works to our client’s operations team.

The role involves liaising with customers and colleagues on a daily basis to ensure tasks are
scheduled and completed within the contract deadlines, and then closing out the tasks on the client’s
system. Other responsibilities include:
Raising jobs for reactive and system work orders
Closing off jobs for engineers and sub-contractors

  • Raising purchase orders to sub-contractors for reactive works
  • Booking in works with clients
  • Support operational team to ensure works are assigned and completed as efficiently as

  • Acting as key point of contact for the operational workforce and sub-contractors
  • Assisting in keeping levels of incomplete tasks to a minimum by ensuring timely completion of

  • Answering calls
  • Providing reports and performance analysis to management team
    Candidate Requirements:
    For the role of Helpdesk Operator, our client is looking for the following in the ideal candidate:

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Experience working on a Helpdesk (desirable)
  • Experience working with Computer-aided facility management (CAFM) system
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, particularly excel
  • Knowledge and understanding of property maintenance related issues
  • Experience of working to deadlines and effective time management
  • Experience with Financial systems e.g. Sage, Eque2 would be adventitious but not essential

    The successful candidate will undergo one to one training to ensure the internal reporting, workflow
    systems and contract deadlines are understood to a high level, enabling them to succeed within the

    Hours and Environment
    This position will be based in Port Dundas, Glasgow (near City Centre). Core working hours are from
    8am until 5pm, Monday to Friday and will rotate weekly in two shift patterns:
    Shift 1
    Monday to Thursday 08:00-16:00
    Friday 08:00-16:00

    Shift 2
    Monday to Thursday 09:00-17:00
    Friday 09:00-16:00
